Taking a show to Nottingham’s STuFF

The EUTC are taking a show to the Student Fringe Festival (StuFF) in Nottingham on 10 and 11 June. More information on the festival can be found here: https://newtheatre.org.uk/stuff/

Propose here: https://bedlamtheatre.co.uk/…/propo…/calls/291/proposals

The proposal form closes tonight (17/04/2023) at 18:00 so be sure to fill it out if you’re interested!!

Since the show takes place at a festival this means tech, set and, props will have to be quite minimal, with only 45 minutes for get-in and 15 for get-out, with a maximum show length of 60 minutes.

We welcome proposals of all kinds, as long as it’s Edinburgh based. Maybe you want to preview your Fringe show (regardless of the society), maybe you want to do a plan not during termtime, maybe you want to revive a play you already did this year.

Once proposals close, there will be an online vote open for 24 hours to determine the winning proposal. Transport will have to be arranged by the successful team, but accommodation will be provided by Nottingham.

If you have any questions about proposing for StuFF, please get in touch with Mick Zijdel.

MAINTENANCE AND STAFFING

Every Sunday 12:00 to 14;00 we do Maintenance where we tidy up the building and so small building improvements. everyone is welcome to help, we provide you with snacks and a good playlist.

If you have worked on a show you need to come to maintenance to tidy up after your show. If you do not, you will go into Maintenance Debt. You can clear this by coming to another Maintenance Session or talking to Lewis Eggeling (Theatre Manager). Similarly you will need to staff a show (or two if you did a mainterm) in exchange for other members staffing your show. You can sign up at: https://www.bedlamtheatre.co.uk/admin/staffings

If you have any questions please contact Luca Stier at [email protected]

DM TRAINING

After Maintenance we have Duty Management (DM) training from 14:00 to 14:30. During this time, we will teach you how to run the building during a show, open and lock up the building, and what to do in case of a fire. Theatre always needs to be at least one DM trained person present when the building is in use, so being DM trained is very helpful for Production Team members!
