DRACUME COMPANY PRESENTS: “THE COUCH”

From the 3rd - 5th May Bedlam will be hosting Dracume Theatre Company who are putting on performances of ‘The Couch’, written and directed by Jackson Longstaff & Eilidh Macdonald!

How many narcissists does it take to find a missing person? When their “best friend” goes missing on the day of her birthday, two self obsessed queers do everything they can to find her while not having to stand up. The couch is a dark comedy about being too old to ignore your problems but too young to deal with them. Can they stop talking about themselves long enough to find Sophie?

Tickets

DEATH OF A SALESMAN

Death of a Salesman, Assembly Roxy 25 - 28 April The independent production of Arthur Miller’s ‘Death of a Salesman’ is happening this week in Assembly Roxy Upstairs, 25 - 28 April 19:00.

Arthur Miller’s masterpiece; the title of which was originally ‘The Inside of His Head’. This in itself illustrates the heart of the play: the tragic descent of man deluded by the American dream. This is a play that fights against the illusion and false promise of modern society’s idea of success. When it was first performed, Miller noted someone calling it a ‘ticking time bomb under capitalism’; such is the play’s political and personal power. It is a play that, we hope, will incite self-reflection as it paints the tragedy of a man who devoted his life to the wrong dream.

MAINTENANCE AND STAFFING

Every Sunday 12:00 to 14;00 we do Maintenance where we tidy up the building and so small building improvements. everyone is welcome to help, we provide you with snacks and a good playlist.

If you have worked on a show you need to come to maintenance to tidy up after your show. If you do not, you will go into Maintenance Debt. You can clear this by coming to another Maintenance Session or talking to Lewis Eggeling (Theatre Manager). Similarly you will need to staff a show (or two if you did a mainterm) in exchange for other members staffing your show. You can sign up via

If you have any questions please contact Luca Stier at [email protected]

DM TRAINING

After Maintenance we have Duty Management (DM) training from 14:00 to 14:30. During this time, we will teach you how to run the building during a show, open and lock up the building, and what to do in case of a fire. Theatre always needs to be at least one DM trained person present when the building is in use, so being DM trained is very helpful for Production Team members!
