Hello!
We hope you all had a lovely winter break and a very happy New Year! We are excited to kick things off here at Bedlam for semester 2 and we’re looking forward to the building being busy again!
This newsletter contains information about our Give It a Go Week and our first GM of the semester.

Voting signups start at 2pm. If you would like to have a say in what happens in the company this year, be sure to come along and vote!
Cast and Crew signups are now open for our week 2 play:
Sherlock Holmes: Choose your own halfVenture!
A little teaser: Sherlock Holmes has a puzzle to solve. And you get to decide who, what, where, when, why, and even how! Will he get a quiet night in? Chase across a moving train? Apprehend a murderer or thief or let one get away? Will he finally make an honest man of Dr Watson?
Join us to watch the culmination of the first ever halfBaked improv (sort-of) adventure. Our recipies are tried, tested, and fully baked. Let’s see how the show measures up!
And if that sounds exciting, and I know it does, sign up below!

Edinburgh’s longest running improv troupe are performing at Bedlam! After selling out over the 2023 Fringe, the Imps are on our stage every Friday for an hour of short form improv, based entirely on audience suggestions. New players and new games mean that shows are always different, always funny!
We can’t wait for you to come and have a laugh with The Improverts and celebrate another year of critically acclaimed improv!

Every Sunday 12:00 to 14:00 we do Maintenance where we tidy up the building and make some small building improvements. Everyone is welcome to help, we provide you with snacks and a good playlist.
If you have worked on a show you need to come to maintenance to tidy up after your show. If you do not, you will go into Maintenance Debt. You can clear this by coming to another Maintenance Session or talking to Lewis Eggeling (Theatre Manager). Similarly you will need to staff a show (or two if you did a mainterm) in exchange for other members staffing your show. You can sign up at
https://www.bedlamtheatre.co.uk/admin/staffings
If you have any questions please contact Luca Stier at [email protected]
After Maintenance we have Duty Management (DM) training from 14:00 to 14:30. During this time, we will teach you how to run the building during a show, open and lock up the building, and what to do in case of a fire. Theatre always needs to be at least one DM trained person present when the building is in use, so being DM trained is very helpful for Production Team members!
