EUTC Week 6 Newsletter - Little Women, Imps

Sunday 19 October 2025 at 18:00 by Lauryn McGuire

Hello!

As we start Week 6, I hope everyone is holding on during midterms, and for some of us, Mainterms. For those of us continually involved in one production or another, remember to take time for yourself to practice healthy habits and unwind. A great way to do that this week could be buying a ticket to see Little Women or the Imps’ show, but I’m definitely biased. Enjoy some time in the theatre when you’re not working in it, or take a little break from essays and school projects by coming to see some wonderful shows in the theatre this week.

Have a great week!

Upcoming Events

Little Women

Wednesday 22 October - Saturday 25 October 2025

Under the guidance of their beloved mother, the four young March sisters – tempestuous Jo, motherly Meg, shy Beth, and spoiled baby Amy – struggle to keep their family going while Father’s away in the Civil War. In this beautifully dramatized adaptation of the classic novel, even as privation, illness, and sibling rivalry cast their shadows, each girl strives to find her true self. Tickets

Imps

Friday 25 October

Looking for a last-minute date idea? Perhaps the perfect pres? Or just good ol’ fashion BORED? The Imps have got you covered (almost) EVERY Friday night at Bedlam Theatre! Edinburgh’s longest running improv troupe are back for another year of fast-paced, ferociously funny FIVE STAR improvised sketch comedy, based ENTIRELY on audience suggestions. The bravest of you may even end up on stage yourselves! Oh, and for those that indulge, it’s BYOB! The Improverts - the best way to spend (or start) a Friday night since 1989. Tickets

Maintenance and Staffing

Every Sunday 12:00 to 14:00, we do theatre maintenance where we tidy up the building and make improvements. Bedlam runs on volunteer help, so you will be asked to attend one of these sessions if you have worked on a show in the theatre. Similarly, you will be required to help staff a show (or two if you did a mainterm) in exchange for the members who helped staff your show. You can log into your account on the Bedlam website to see if you have maintenance or staffing debt and sign up for a session to fulfill that. There are instructions on the website and people to help you in the building, so don’t worry if you’re new to any of the tasks! You can clear maintenance debt by coming to a Maintenance Session or talking to Maysan Abdidayim or Morgan Hazelip (Theatre Managers) at [email protected]. Likewise, you can contact Uppie Shah or Elise Chan (Front of House Managers) at [email protected] if you have any questions about staffing. You can sign up for your staffing slot here. Thanks for the help!

Welfare

For Bedlam-related welfare issues: [email protected]

Show-specific welfare reps: Check your proposal or ask your producer if you’re not sure who that is!

What we can help with: - Disagreements about show-related issues - Safety and well-being concerns on shows - Scheduling conflicts you’re not sure how to handle - Pretty much anything else related to a Bedlam show or the society itself!

Other welfare resources to keep on hand: For mental health concerns or non-theatre related issues, please reach out to the Edinburgh Student Wellbeing service or make an appointment with Edinburgh’s Student Counseling Service.
