Welcome back! Hopefully everyone has had a lovely Winter break. This week we have some fun Give It A Go Week programming in Bedlam as well as the Box of Beckett Showcase and an Imps show.
My goal is to improve this newsletter a bit this semester, so please let me know if you have any ideas and stay tuned! I’d like to start a photo dump section full of people’s Bedlam related photos they’ve taken each week that they’d like to share. Please send your photos to [email protected] with a little caption so I know what it is!!! Additionally, we’ll have a new Archives section each week and an occasional fun mystery column!

Friday 16 January - Saturday 17 January 2026
A Beckettian showcase. Our running order below. Breath - Inhale. Exhale.
Come and Go - Things aren’t the same as they were before. Sit together as we used to. Hold hands in the old way.
Rough for Theatre 1 - A comedy between a beggar and a tramp, scuttling amongst the ruins.
What Where - I switch on. They are the last five. They give him the works. He cries. Does not confess. Not good. I switch off. I switch on again.
Catastrophe - A rehearsal. The final touches to the last scene.
Not I - The stream … could not stop the stream … no sound … just tears … whole body like gone …. Just the mouth … What? … Who? …No. ….She!
Krapp’s Last Tape - Another year gone. Another retrospect. Perhaps his best years are behind him. Leave it at that.
The Improverts
Friday 16 January
What happens when rival butchers meet at the laundromat? Or Queen Lizzie walks into a chippie? We haven’t got a clue, but bring your quirkiest suggestions to the Fringe’s longest running sketch-comedy-improv show and watch them unfold in beautiful chaos!
Fancy a giggle? Come along at 10:30pm every Friday to catch a show!
Fancy making others giggle? Come along to one of our weekly workshops every Saturday at 12midday!
Imps tn? Hell yeah!
I’d like to start a section in our newsletter to make EUTC members more aware of what the committee is up to! All our committee members work very hard and do a lot of work behind the scenes, so please know that this is by no means a comprehensive list, but rather some highlights of projects we’re working on each week.
This week, Meri (Productions Manager) is giving feedback, reading, and approving show proposals for our upcoming GM. She is also starting a subcommittee, so stay tuned for updates and applications.
Luke, Lauryn, and Andrew (Presidents and Business Manager) have been working over Winter break on re-vamping the Bedlam Fringe management structure, preparing for the hiring process of the team, and coming up with a plan to ensure smooth operations this year.
Every Sunday 12:00 to 14:00, we do theatre maintenance where we tidy up the building and make improvements. Bedlam runs on volunteer help, so you will be asked to attend one of these sessions if you have worked on a show in the theatre. Similarly, you will be required to help staff a show (or two if you did a mainterm) in exchange for the members who helped staff your show. You can log into your account on the Bedlam website to see if you have maintenance or staffing debt and sign up for a session to fulfill that. There are instructions on the website and people to help you in the building, so don’t worry if you’re new to any of the tasks! You can clear maintenance debt by coming to a Maintenance Session or talking to Maysan Abdidayim or Morgan Hazelip (Theatre Managers) at [email protected]. Likewise, you can contact Uppie Shah or Elise Chan (Front of House Managers) at [email protected] if you have any questions about staffing. You can sign up for your staffing slot here. Thanks for the help!

Show-specific welfare reps: Check your proposal or ask your producer if you’re not sure who that is!
