Party Like It’s 1899

It’s a 90s party. And we’re talking 1990s Hollywood takes on the maximalist indulgence of the 1890s. Tighten those corsets and loosen those bowties and get ready for a night of frantic era frenzy!

Raffle with BIG prizes! Bring your own bottle! Music and cake!

The EUTC presents The Importance of Being Earnest, coming to Bedlam Theatre 11-14th March 2026, and The Seagull, coming to Bedlam Theatre 11-15th February 2026.

Follow our shows @earnest.eutc and @theseagull.eutc!

Fun fact: Both of our shows were first performed in 1895!

The Black Prince

Katherine turns 45 today! Her family plans a lovely evening for her - dinner, presents, and drinks, with her husband, older son, and younger daughter. We seem set for a lovely evening. That’s until Edward arrives - her younger brother, and since his conviction of an appalling crime 6 months ago, her estranged brother. Chaos ensues as the parents have to navigate the emotional tumult of explaining to their kids why they can’t see their Uncle Eddie anymore.

All Will Fall

All Will Fall is a tabletop roleplaying game (TTRPG) where your fate isn’t rolled on dice, it’s pulled from a Jenga tower.

Each pull makes the tower shakier. Each choice has consequences. How far are you willing to go? Are you willing to face the consequences? Is this decision worth dying for?

When the tower falls, something irreversible happens in the story and the character that is responsible, will die.

It’s collaborative storytelling where survival isn’t guaranteed. But meaning is.

Come watch us play dangerously, on the 28th of Jan at Bedlam Theatre.

Mario Kart: IMMERSIVE

Trial Shifts and Tribulations

This is not a trial shift in some sweet little family-run bakery, okay? There will be no hot chocolate or teensy-weensy marshmallows for you at nap time. This is Tesco ‘s.

HalfBaked Presents: The Oddessy

Sail alongside Telemachus as he searches for his long-lost father - the one and only Odysseus, and witness Odysseus himself journey through the seas as he battles the Cyclops and gets in trouble with not one, but two witches.

Will they reunite? Or will they sink to the bottom of the deep dark ocean?

Come along to HalfBaked’s retelling of the classic Odyssey to find out!

In true halfBaked style, not all performers will be off book, and there will be (fully) baked goods provided with every tickets, so get ready for a reasonably good time!

Hard Pill

Hard pill is a comedy play about friendship, virginity, and contraception. Within the confines of the Boots pharmacy waiting area, Astrid and her two best friends, Harry and Sonia, discuss desire, shame, and the v card. With interjections from Hannah, a mutual friend in search of nipple covers, and the conniving pharmacist, the friends go through the impossible task of protecting their egos while being good friends.

You Knew Gregory!

Did you know that Gregory died? What a shame! Certainly a terrible shame for the seven people at Gregory’s funeral reception, who all definitely knew Gregory. Wouldn’t it be awful if they found out that one of them didn’t actually know Gregory? They’re not likely to notice, because none of them knew Gregory. How far can they build the myth of Gregory without knowing that none of them knew Gregory? Is this confusing you yet? Of course not! You knew Gregory!

One/Another

A new play about memory, navigating queerness, loss and longing in a time when touch was taboo. One/Another is a two-hander which emerged after months of devised work, dealing with big themes on a small scale, including the long-term effects of pandemic lockdowns on a generation, the power of rave and party culture, and the often-fragile line between truth and illusion. Come see.

Peaked

SLASHHOUSE THEATRE COMPANY presents “Peaked” at Bedfest!!!

When a group of former child actors reunite to discuss the possibility of helming a revival of their old hit mystery series “Shady Peaks”, discussions of the future begin to dig up the past. Reunited for the first time in ten years at “The Chance” pub, the gang’s plans for a cosy reunion are derailed when they are forced to investigate the circumstances that led to the show’s cancellation. As reality begins to feel like an episode of their old show, secrets will be unearthed. “Peaked” explores what can happen when success comes early, and the uneasy feeling that life could be over before it has really begun.

Dissonance

“It doesn’t matter anymore. I’ve given up.”

Sam’s life hangs in the balance. Will she go? Will she stay? And who gets to decide?

When a secret is uncovered at an innocuous bus stop as the day breaks, Sam is thrown into a spiral that will lead her to question everything. As the day progresses, she cannot help but get lost in the memory of the night past. By the time night falls again, Sam must reckon with the consequences of the morning’s drama when faced with a reunion of childhood friends.

Dissonance explores the challenge of those moments in life where change and permanence collide in an understated and unseen way.

Imps

What happens when rival butchers meet at the laundromat? Or Queen Lizzie walks into a chippie? We haven’t got a clue, but bring your quirkiest suggestions to the Fringe’s longest running sketch-comedy-improv show and watch them unfold in beautiful chaos!

Fancy a giggle? Come along at 10:30pm every Friday to catch a show!

Fancy making others giggle? Come along to one of our weekly workshops every Saturday at 12midday!

Imps tn? Hell yeah!

WTF Is The Committee Doing?

This week, the President, Vice President, and Business Manager have finished the job outlines for the Bedlam Fringe management team and are beginning to release applications. The President is also planning meetings with the managers of each department of the theatre to discuss projects for the new term. The Productions Manager is doing some typical post-GM work by answering messages from new show teams and helping them find their footing.

Maintenance and Staffing

Every Sunday 12:00 to 14:00, we do theatre maintenance where we tidy up the building and make improvements. Bedlam runs on volunteer help, so you will be asked to attend one of these sessions if you have worked on a show in the theatre. Similarly, you will be required to help staff a show (or two if you did a mainterm) in exchange for the members who helped staff your show. You can log into your account on the Bedlam website to see if you have maintenance or staffing debt and sign up for a session to fulfill that. There are instructions on the website and people to help you in the building, so don’t worry if you’re new to any of the tasks! You can clear maintenance debt by coming to a Maintenance Session or talking to Maysan Abdidayim or Morgan Hazelip (Theatre Managers) at [email protected]. Likewise, you can contact Uppie Shah or Elise Chan (Front of House Managers) at [email protected] if you have any questions about staffing. You can sign up for your staffing slot here. Thanks for the help!

Welfare

For Bedlam-related welfare issues: [email protected]

Show-specific welfare reps: Check your proposal or ask your producer if you’re not sure who that is!

What we can help with: - Disagreements about show-related issues - Safety and well-being concerns on shows - Scheduling conflicts you’re not sure how to handle - Pretty much anything else related to a Bedlam show or the society itself!

Other welfare resources to keep on hand: For mental health concerns or non-theatre related issues, please reach out to the Edinburgh Student Wellbeing service or make an appointment with Edinburgh’s Student Counseling Service.
