Events

Welcome Party - Saturday 9th April, 10.30pm

BSL and Live Captions will be provided from 10.30-11.00pm for Welcome Speeches.

WELCOME TO NSDF 22! We made it! Join us at 10.30pm for some welcoming words and a playlist from DJ Bazzer to help us Cha Cha Slide into the festival week.

NSDF After Hours - Sunday 10th April, 10.30pm

NSDF After Hours is a slightly more relaxed space for you to meet and connect with others at the festival - maybe talk about theatre, maybe not? There’ll be music, low lighting, possibly giant jenga. Moments like these where you can meet other creatives and make connections are a major part of what makes NSDF so valuable.

If you’re attending the festival on your own (we love that), please let us know at the Festival Desk and we’ll make sure there’s someone to chat to.

Spoken Word Night - Monday 11th April, 10.30pm

The spoken word talent at NSDF has been so good over the past few years, we thought it deserved its own night.

An open-mic poetry and performance night for anyone at the festival to come and join in, whether to speak or listen. It doesn’t matter if you’re a poetry-pro or a complete first timer, you’ll be warmly welcomed to take the mic and share your work.

To get involved please email your interest and act to be added to the running order at [email protected].

The Club on the Edge of Town - Book Launch - Tuesday 12th April, 5pm

Curve Studio

On Festival Tuesday at 5pm we’re proud to host a special event highlighting the work of Slung Low during the Pandemic, and the launch of Alan Lane’s new book The Club on the Edge of Town.

Another one? Yes. A relaxed space for you to meet and connect with others at the festival. Music. Lighting. Jenga.

NSDF Quiz - Wednesday 13th April, 9:30pm

As the world hurtles towards its inevitable demise, let’s answer some questions, and win some prizes.

Assemble a team, or sign up on the night. All teams must include a member of NSDF staff - Associates, Technical Pro’s, Visiting Artists.

Open-Mic Night - Thursday 14th April, 10.30pm

Tonight we’re offering a space for anyone at the festival to perform. Whatever it is you want to share, we’re here for it.
