This show was put on in the interval of ‘Kalamazoo’ by the Edinburgh University Modern Dance Group, The Jazz Group and Folk Singers, but only in the first week of Kalamazoo.

For a deep need to create more meaningful music comes The Pentangle. A new dimension in music. Five deep. Five individuals who are leading musicians in their own right. From the wealth of their imagination and experience spring forth permutations of rich sound, unigue style. It’s easy enough to tell you who The Pentangle are. Bert Jansch, one of Britain’s leading solo folk-blues performers and a leading contemporary composer; John Renbourn, himself and outstanding soloist and brilliant musician; Danny Thompson, bass, and Terry Cox, drums, tow distinctively expert music makers; Jacqui McShee, blues vocalist and traditional folk singer, who is considered by more than many to be the blues vocalist. But it is not easy to describe adequately what happens when these five inspired elements of The Pentalgle fuse together. Their concerts are musical evenings that pack in group and solo performances of unforgettable intensity. Bert and John play acoustic guitar but many group numbers also use electronic equipment. Recording for Transatlantic, which already has in its catalogue numberous outstanding L.P’s made indicivually by John and Bert. The Pentangle has just released htier first L.P, TRA 12 The PEntanble.
