Meet Ada Lovelace, the world’s first computer programmer. The daughter of Lorn Byron, Ada was torn from her poetic origins, and pushed, by her mother, into a life of discipline and mathematics, eventually writing the World’s first computer algorithm. Despite her mother’s attempts to inoculate her against Byron’s ‘decadence’, as an adult Ada ended up being mad, bad and dangerous to know; her life is laced with dramatic irony. Ada is a theatrical exploration and celebration of Ada Lovelace’s life and legacy, exploring the world of modern computers asking what relevance Ada’s insight and discoveries hold today.
