“Do you remember when you were in middle school and you read about Shackleton and how he explored the Antarctic?; Imagine the Antarctic as a pussy and it’s sort of like that.”
Collective Rage: A Play in Five Betties is an absurdist comedy following five women, all named Betty on their pursuit for happiness in the face of unbearable loneliness. The lives of these very different women collide at an intersection of anger, sex and theatre, as they try and fail to stage a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Through a series of dinner parties, boxing lessons, angry outbursts and self-discoveries these five betties build relationships and experience collective rage towards society.
