We happily present to you, our audience: the parts of history your teacher didn’t want you to know about.
England, 1623. George Villiers, infamous lover of King James I is at a dead end. His political ambitions are going nowhere, and the country despises him. When opportunity arises in the form of a marriage between the future Charles I (yes, the headless one) and the Spanish Infanta, he convinces the young Prince to travel with him incognito to Spain to woo the Princess and impress his father.
The only catch? Charles hates him and the Spanish don’t know they’re coming. What follows is a story so absurd it can only be true, as the pair find themselves on a journey that will cement a life-long bond and doom them both.
Follow the unlikely friends in this absurd tragicomedy as they take on drunkards, Spanish politicians, and one very angry historian, in a story that proves the future is what you make it, especially when you make nothing but bad decisions…
