A Norwegian tale of love and betrayal.
Friday 25 January 2013
£2.50
BedFest brings Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen’s brilliant, satirical and controversial ‘Hedda Gabler’ to the Bedlam stage, offering a stripped-down, naturalistic production. Still as morally ambiguous and as paradoxical as when it was first performed, Ibsen’s ruthless exposure of class conflict and gender discrimination remains highly relevant today, as does his timeless exploration of the volatile power of love and hate, of hope and despair, of artistic creation — and of nihilistic destruction. It is not a play to miss.
