“Here’s the story of Oedipus:
The King.
The Blind Man.
The Father-Brother-Husband-Son.
The MUTHAFUCKA.
Who used to live here…
But doesn’t anymore.”
Edinburgh University Theatre Company and Bedlam are proud to present ‘Oedipus Doesn’t Live Here Anymore’, a play by Daniel Evans. Part of the Fresher’s Play 2023 Series.
“Okay: Never have I ever… thought your mum was hot.’
‘Shes a fucking MILF is what she is.”
A darkly funny play not for the faint of heart, Oedipus Doesn’t Live Here Anymore guides us through a classic mythology with a new lens. What would you do if your neighbour fucked his mother? What if the whole street knew, from the graffiti smothered on the garage next door? When the residents of sleepy Australian suburbia hear the news, we’re led on a tale of desperation, attention, and reputation. A viscerally demanding and delightfully devious piece, Oedipus Doesn’t Live Here is sure to keep the whole town talking.
Coming to Bedlam Theatre on Friday, 24th November 2023. 11B Bristo Place. 7:30PM.
Member Tickets £4 / Student £5 / Public £8.
Be there or beware your graffiti.
