Sam and Fran are complete and total strangers – sorry, I mean, flatmates. But when Sam suddenly disappears under suspicious circumstances and leaves Fran in the dark, Fran spirals into stranger and stranger territory as she struggles to find a way of filling the flat on her own. When you can barely afford the rent to share a few square feet of a shoebox with someone, where is the line between ‘mine’ and ‘yours’, in bounds and out-of-bounds, public and private? More importantly, who gets to draw it? How do you maintain a 5* rating on Spare Room without turning into a flat-pack version of yourself?
A debut one-act-play about cohabiting and codependency by Lola Rose Wood; this world exists for anyone who yearns to take up space and know how to hold it.
