The Understudies is a completely improvised comedy musical that has just enjoyed a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2018. Based entirely on audience suggestions, this long-form improv is a whirlwind of comical choreography and vocal prowess concerning the most mundane of objects and outlandish activities. With live musical accompaniment, this is an hour of energetic, animated and hilariously frivolous comedy.

Our players hail from a variety of comedic backgrounds. Many are alumni and current members of the Edinburgh University Theatre Company’s famed IMPROVERTS, Fringe’s longest running improvised comedy troupe. Many are regulars at The Stand Comedy Club, Grassroots Comedy Club and Monkey Barrel, as well as having a huge range of theatre experience with The Edinburgh University Savoy Opera Group, The Edinburgh University Shakespeare Society, The Edinburgh University Theatre Company and Theatre Paradok. Additional comedy credits include Jam Sandwich (Fringe 2016), Heavy on the Breasts (Bedfest 2017), Bedlam Fringe and some members have also been trained at the world famous Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York City.

Tickets will be available soon!
