This festival finished on Sunday 20 February 1994, and this page is being kept for archival purposes only.
It ran 8 days and was both in Bedlam and the Stepping Stones theatres, showcasing over 20 pieces of original writing. The festival included daily workshops led by Kenny Ireland, artistic director of the Royal Lyceum, and Di Seymour, stage designer for the BBC and RSC. The festival was supported by Scottish Television, the Binks Trust, Edinburgh District Arts Council and Andrew Lloyd Webber (probably his Foundation) There were also be music, art exhibitions and cabaret. The best shows from the festivals could later perform at the Traverse.
This year also saw an average of 70% full house, it involved more than 400 people in all aspects of theatre, and performed in a week to more than 2,500 people.
