Bristol, 1967 - Bri, a disillusioned teacher, and Sheila, his devoted wife, are struggling to save their marriage whilst caring for their ten-year-old daughter, Josephine, who was born with cerebral palsy. To cope, they construct a darkly comic fantasy world around Josephine, but despite the humour, heartbreak is never far away.
