Independence

That's what family means, each generation destroying itself willingly, for what comes after.

Set in the small American town of Independence, the play, by Lee Blessing, focuses on the relationship between manipulative, mentally ill mother, Evelyn, and her three daughters; college professor Kess, pregnant Jo and promiscuous Sherry. It explores the problems the family face as each of the daughters strive to gain their independence and escape the prison their mother has created.
