Charkhi, Pakistan, 1979. Ayesha is a Muslim, a widow, a mother; Veeru is an abandoned daughter, an abductee, a Sikh. Experience the pain and trauma of Partition when one village is forced to relive its past.
We are proud to present the stage adaptation of Sabiha Sumar’s internationally acclaimed film ‘Khamosh Pani’ at the Bedlam Theatre. This is a pivotal moment for theatre in the UK with the very first staging of Khamosh Pani anywhere in the world, and an important move for the EUTC in performing such a multicultural and politically important piece.
